Dance,
designed
better.

Teaching the heart of dance, music and acting.

How we’re different.

EDUCATION, NOT COMPETITION

When looking for a studio, pick one that focuses on dance education over competitions.

At Dance Design school we emphasize dance education. This encourages individual work ethic, while promoting learning and fun. Each dancer gets the satisfaction that comes from personal achievement, rather than from a trophy.

HASSLE-FREE SHOWS

A year end show should focus on a wonderful experience for the student and parent. Additional fees, rehearsals that do not run on time, and lengthy performances are unpleasant for the entire family. We ensure that our year end show is an event to look forward to not to dread.

SMALL CLASS SIZES

Teaching dance can be tricky when it comes to children. Attention span and physical readiness are specific to each age group and individual child. Appropriate dance movements are best taught by a trained professional dance teacher who understands the unique development of each child. In order for teachers to effectively teach each student, we keep our class sizes small.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Dance Design School has been for my daughter. We found DDS by chance after relocating to the area and I am so grateful we did! Miss Aggie and all her teachers are kind, generous and not only focused on the development and encouragement of young dancers, but also on their overall development as young women and men. DDS is like a large extended family;

I have seen first hand older dancers encourage and support each other. They are a wonderful example for the younger ones, like my daughter. Miss Aggie cares about everyone who walks through her doors and that is exemplified through how her students interact with each other. When you add in an AMAZING Royal Academy of Dance curriculum, which prepares dancers appropriately for their age, and fosters a true love for dance it's really no wonder families never leave DDS. I know we can't imagine being anywhere else.

I love Dance and Music Design School. My granddaughter has been attending for 4 years and she can’t wait for class each week. Her teachers are caring and patient. This year I tried the Music Pups baby music class with my younger granddaughter. She loved it, and so do I. We have met many great parents with kids the same age. I would recommend the school to everyone.

-Eileen H., Grandparent

Our family has been part of Dance and Music Design School since 2019 and we absolutely love it. The teachers all give time to each student, and teach in a way that fits for each age group. My daughters have a place where they can be themselves, learn a skill they love, and as they get older spend time helping and encouraging younger dancers. We're so thankful that we found this school and community of teachers and families.

About Us

The Dance & Music Design School provides ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip-hop, music, piano, guitar, singing, voice, song & dance and acting classes conveniently located in Cornwall, New York,

We promote a “drama-free” studio environment from teachers, to students, and parents.

lasting friendships, a supportive environment for growth

All our dance classes focus on education, not competition. This means your child will learn how to dance, allowing choreography to come effortlessly. Our young classes are imaginative and creative while each class will lay the foundation for more complex dance training in years to come. We encourage our pre-teen and teen dancers to listen and respond to their own unique bodies, as opposed to traditional ballet teaching methods that do not appreciate the individual child.
