They'll have the chance to perform on stage, help design and use costumes, props, makeup, and set pieces—deepening their connection to the creative process.

About the Camp

The perfect camp for the early elementary school child who wants to spend his/her summer dancing. Dancers attend class for 2 hours per day with your choice of 1 or 2 weeks in length. The “Magic Dolls” camp follows the public school cut off and is appropriate for children entering 1st to 3rd grade in the fall of 2025. The basic foundation of ballet and dance work is taught using kid friendly imagery and story lines. Music recognition is taught as well as basic body placement. At Dance & Music Design School our teachers understand the need for this age group to move. Many of the exercises have dance steps that encourage movement, as opposed to traditional dance classes that demand standing at the barre or in lines for extended periods of time. While our classes are imaginative and creative, each exercise will lay the foundation for more complex dance training in years to come.

Artistic expression through movement

Life size mechanical dolls, a wedding feast and an old inventor, this camp is perfect for your young dance lover. Class will be based on famous dance performances that includes magic and dolls. A craft is included with each class.

All week 1 dancers will be given the opportunity to participate in our summer performance. There is no additional fee to be a part of this show. Rehearsal times are held separately from dance class times. Costumes will be provided free of charge and parents will receive 2 free tickets.

About Us

The Dance & Music Design School provides ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip-hop, music, piano, guitar, singing, voice, song & dance and acting classes conveniently located in Cornwall, New York,

We promote a “drama-free” studio environment from teachers, to students, and parents.

lasting friendships, a supportive environment for growth

All our dance classes focus on education, not competition. This means your child will learn how to dance, allowing choreography to come effortlessly. Our young classes are imaginative and creative while each class will lay the foundation for more complex dance training in years to come. We encourage our pre-teen and teen dancers to listen and respond to their own unique bodies, as opposed to traditional ballet teaching methods that do not appreciate the individual child.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Dance Design School has been for my daughter. We found DDS by chance after relocating to the area and I am so grateful we did! Miss Aggie and all her teachers are kind, generous and not only focused on the development and encouragement of young dancers, but also on their overall development as young women and men. DDS is like a large extended family;

I have seen first hand older dancers encourage and support each other. They are a wonderful example for the younger ones, like my daughter. Miss Aggie cares about everyone who walks through her doors and that is exemplified through how her students interact with each other. When you add in an AMAZING Royal Academy of Dance curriculum, which prepares dancers appropriately for their age, and fosters a true love for dance it's really no wonder families never leave DDS. I know we can't imagine being anywhere else.

I love Dance and Music Design School. My granddaughter has been attending for 4 years and she can’t wait for class each week. Her teachers are caring and patient. This year I tried the Music Pups baby music class with my younger granddaughter. She loved it, and so do I. We have met many great parents with kids the same age. I would recommend the school to everyone.

-Eileen H., Grandparent

Our family has been part of Dance and Music Design School since 2019 and we absolutely love it. The teachers all give time to each student, and teach in a way that fits for each age group. My daughters have a place where they can be themselves, learn a skill they love, and as they get older spend time helping and encouraging younger dancers. We're so thankful that we found this school and community of teachers and families.
